Your Itinerary

It is a perfect weekend getaway if you want to switch off from your monotonous routine and get close to nature.

Day 1: Mcleodganj to Triund (9 Km Trek)

Destination Altitude: 2,975 Meters

  • On arriving at Mcleodganj, meet our team and the rest of the group as we welcome you into a small briefing. Our trek begins from Mcleodganj as we ascend towards Triund. The trek is an easy ascend, which takes up to 4-5 hours. Triund is a flat meadow on top of a ridge, overlooking the Kangra valley and with Dhauladhar range on the other side.
  • Overnight camping and dinner at Triund.

Day 2: Triund to Ilaka Got (6 Km)

Destination Altitude: 3,300 Meters

  • After breakfast, we will leave early for Ilaka Got. The trail walks alongside the Dhauladhar mountains on the right. The ascend is moderate and takes you on a serene trail through the forest to the Snowline. You can even witness the endangered Gryffin Vultures that are a majestic sight to hold.
  • Crossing the Snow line, you can see a picturesque rocky meadow expanding in front of you, reaching out to the base of one of the Dhauladhar mountains. It takes you to Ilaka Got, an open Alpine meadow used by Gaddi Shephards as a campground.
  • Enjoy the serenity at the foot of Dhauladhar mountains as the glacial stream melts down and trickles amid the campsite.
  • Overnight camping and dinner at Ilaka Got.

Day 3: Ilaka Got to Indrahar Pass to Ilaka Got (9 Km)

Destination Altitude: 4,420 Meters

  • The day will be long and challenging. Prepare well for the day. We’ll have an early breakfast and hike towards Lahesh cave. This is an exciting and adventurous part of the day. The rocky terrain will test you to your limit and lead you to the enchanting Indrahar pass.
  • Depending upon the weather, the terrain might slightly vary from being rocky to icy or snowy. Since you gain altitude, it is best to walk at a medium or slow pace but consistently.
  • The view from the summit will make your heart skip a beat. The view of the sacred and majestic Manimahesh and Pir-Panjal adorns the sight.
  • Since the weather conditions change quickly and unpredictably as the day progress, after spending some time at the summit, descend back to Ilaka Got.
  • Overnight camping and dinner at Ilaka Got.

Day 4: Ilaka Got to Mcleodganj (12 Km)

  • Start your day early with a filling breakfast. The descend to Mcleodganj is short and quick. It will take 4-5 hours to descend back to Mcleodganj.
  • Your arrival at Mcleodganj will mark the end of this challenging and rewarding trek to Indrahar Pass.
