Kareri Lake is mostly known for being a tramping destination in the Dhauladhers. Kareri Lake is a freshwater lake with high altitude and shallow located south of the Dhauladhar ranges, Approximately 9 kilometers northeast Kangra district. Its surface is of 2934 meters overhead to the sea level.
Dhauladhar range serves as the source of a lake and a stream beautifully because of snow melting and Nylund in the outflow.
The lake is shallow, and its origin is fresh melting snow. The lake stays preserved from early December to March-April. There is a famous temple on the hilltop overlooking the lake, and the temple devotes to Lord Shiva and Shakti. Water discernibility is immensely high, and in the majority places, the lake bed can be seen.

Kedarkantha is hands down one of the most incredible winter treks sought after in India. The trek takes you to a whopping altitude of 12,000 ft in the stunning Himalayan range of Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand. The trek begins at Sankri, an isolated small village with a unique culture and loving inhabitants. From Sankri itself, you can look at various snowcapped peaks standing so close to you that you can stretch your arm and touch it.
The trek takes you through a forest of pine, maple, and rhododendrons higher to a terrain where the vegetation thins out. The months of November, December, January, and February see heavy snowfall. You walk through meadows, now covered with thick snow. The rich flora and fauna are enough to keep you engaged throughout the way.

Indrahar pass is a majestic and stunningly beautiful trek that takes you through the Dhauladhars to a whopping altitude of 14,245 ft. The trek will challenge you enough and yet will be rewarding with its breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar range, the vast rocky meadows, amazing Lahesh Caves, and the spectacular view of Manimahesh from the pass.
Starting from Mcleodganj, the trek takes you to one of the most walked trails of Himachal Pradesh to Triund. The trek to Triund is an easy ascent that culminates at a ridge that faces the Kangra valley at one side and is overlooked by the Majestic range of Dhauladhars from the other. From Triund, you ascend further up to Snowline and then walk to Ilaka Got, a stunning rocky meadow, home to the Gaddi Shepherds. As you walk the trail, Dhauladhars peek at you majestically. From crossing the rivulet emerging from the glaciers of Dhauladhar, the terrain transforms into a rocky one.

It is a perfect destination to relax and cleanse yourself from the polluting and toxic city life. People gravitate towards Kalga because of its proximity to Kheerganga, Tosh, and Kasol. With a 360-degree view of the snowcapped mountains, beautiful alpine forests, houses dotted at a wide distance, occasional showers of rain, local delicacies, and the sheer isolation from the bustle of cities make Kalga the perfect place to unwind yourself.

Kareri Lake trek was extremely exciting since we had to camp at many places in the middle of the secluded areas. All the trails were through either forests or meadows. This lake trek was changing my attitude totally. Made by Ujjwal Verma
